Bless and Plan International have built 73 permanent houses, each cost Rs.3 lakh for the tsunami affected people of Agram coastal village in Parangipettai town panchayat.

Cuddalore District Collector Rajendra Ratnoo handed over the keys to the children of these families at a function held at Parangipettai on 19^th March 2008 – Wednesday.  The tenements were built in two clusters and name Sakthi Nagar (48 Houses) and Valampuri Nagar (25 Houses).  When the tsunami struck in 2004, about 73 families in the town panchayat, mostly fishermen and scavengers, lost their boats, fishing nets and shelters.
