The Tsunami that slammed the east cost of Tamilnadu caused extensive damage to the lives and property of the people living in the villages along the coastal line in Tamilnadu. The stretch of 65 km along the Cuddalore coast was among the many coastal regions that were very badly affected. BLESS, as an interactive and people centered voluntary organization in the region, immediately undertook the enormous measure of rescue and emergency relief for the victims of the disaster. BLESS implemented several action programmes as an emergency response in coordination with other agencies.
